People who want to become a massage therapist need to take a six-month course (full-time) or 12 months (part-time). Shorter courses are regarded are introductory courses and not suitable for actual massage therapy professional practice.  The amount you pay for your school will depend on the training you go after. For instance, if you go the distance learning route, you’ll liable to pay:

  • £498 for the certificate
  • £798 for the diploma
  • £998 for the advanced diploma

If you attend a massage therapy school in UK, you could pay around £1300 or more for your basic schooling. If you want to specialize in another kind of massage therapy, you’re going to pay extra for it.

You must renew your license every year at a cost of £63. Renewal fees for the additional disciplines cost £5. You’ll also need to pay fees if you plan to open a business. You can usually create your own greeting cards, business cards, brochures, postcards, gift bags and boxes, and other supplies for a small fee.  If you don’t do this yourself, you could spend in upwards of £1,000 for a year’s supply of advertising materials.
