Como Shambhala Urban Escape In Park Lane Metropolitan Hotel

(Ideal for Improvement of Mental State)

Como Shambhala Urban Escape In Park Lane Metropolitan Hotel

People who need to destress tend to head to the Como Shambhala Urban Escape of the Metropolitan Hotel on Park Lane. It may not be a lot to look at, but if you’re looking for a spiritual rejuvenation, you’ll want to take a visit with one of its “masters.”

Susan King has worked for 20 years as an Intuitive Healer, and her sessions encourage free-flowing one-on-one conversations (something you would see in psychotherapy). However, Susan uses per perception powers to dig deep into people’s emotional problems.  She’s quite skilled at getting people back on the right track with her non-judgmental demeanor.

Recommended treatment: The cost of Susan King’s Intuitive Healing is £185 for 60 minutes.

Espa Life in Corinthia London

(Ideal For Facials)

Espa Life in Corinthia London

The Corinthia Hotel’s Espa Life was created to bring energy back to the body. It’s a graceful space where there is no sharp edge, with wave-style corridors that offer a futuristic feel. In the relaxation room, traditional daybeds have been replaced with sleep pods.

The biggest thing at the Espa Life spa is the facial, and if you want to see instant results, you need to get the enzyme peel. It’s gentle enough so that you can go out in public afterward and is still effective.  A deep exfoliation and cleanse is followed up by a cooling mixture mask of menthol and argan oil, which ensures the complexion looks fresher and plumped.

Recommended treatement: The cost of the Age-Rebel Face Treatment is £185 for 90 minutes.

Bamford Haybarn Spa in Knightsbridge’s The Berkley

(Ideal For Pregnant Women)

The soothing atmosphere at the Bamford Haybarn is instilled with the whitewashed wood, Carrera marble and waffle linens. A real necessity for expectant women. It included shaded sun-loungers that envelop the small rooftop pool. There’s also a small herb garden that includes fig trees, rosemary and lavender.

The spa caters to pregnant women, and their baby bump is protected and cushioned. Before the massage begins, the woman will find a comfortable position so that the massage will ease the pre-birth jitters. Post-treatment, expectant mothers can purchase massage oil, baby powder and amazing loose-flower clothing selection from the boutique.

There are several packages to take advantage at:

  • Bamford Pregnancy massage is £100 for 55 minutes
  • Expectant Mother package is £320, which includes the massage, the 55-minute Oskia facial, pedicure or manicure, four days’ access to spa’s facilities and rooftop pool and two-course lunch.

Mandarin Oriental in Hyde Park

(Ideal for Oriental Massages)

The Mandarin Oriental Spa in London is decorated with amethyst crystals and Buddha statuettes, but don’t be put off by the décor. The masseuses can instinctively pick up on the needs of their guests, customizing the treatments that can include gentle lymph-draining strokes or some deep kneading.  Its four-hands massage is amazing, and its Aromatherapy Associates custom-mixed oils and its notable Quintessence oil will give everybody the rejuvenation they feel.

Recommended treatement: The Oriental Essence massage cost £155 for 80 minutes.

Urban Retreat at the Harrods In Knightsbridge

(Ideal For Speedy Pampering)

Urban Retreat at the Harrods In Knightsbridge

On the Harrods’ fifth floor, the Urban Retreat is not as much a spa as it is a beauty super-highway that includes barbers chairs, make-up counters, half-empty champagne glasses and bulb-lit mirrors. It’s an open plan that includes no-nonsense professional therapists that want to ensure the job is done. If you don’t mind gossiping or a lot of hairdryers going on, this may be just what you need.

Recommended treatement: The Last Tine treatment cost £30 for 15 minutes.

Chuan Spa Carita at Langham London

(Ideal For Trying Something New)

chuan spa

Chuan Spa at the Langham hotel uses traditional Chinese medicine and uses Oriental-inspired treatments and décor. Its French beauty brand Carita includes two anti-aging facials: Trio of Gold Perfection and Precious Diamond. According to the therapist, the facial will stimulate cell renewal with its four-step process with its line of Carita products that includes plant and diamond extracts.

During the 90-minute massage, your skin will be cleansed, scrubbed and massage the face and neck using various lotions and balms including a sunflower-seed skin renovation scrub. After the massage, your face may feel firmer and look brighter.

Four Seasons Spa in Park Lane (Ideal For Men)

four season spa

Most of the spas treatments in London are geared to either sex. However, the Four Seasons spa took things a step further by gearing services to men only. The spa launched its Hommage menu, which is aligned with a partnership with French man’s skincare brand and offers treatments designed for just men.

The most notable is the Black Diamond Facial. This facial uses a fine dust of black diamond as the main ingredient. It’s applied with care but needs more than one session to see any noticeable difference, though you’ll still feel relaxed and rejuvenated after it. Upon your arrival, you may be asked if you want an additional treatment to go along with the facial for £15.  This may or may not work for how you feel about the spa.

Recommended treatement: The Black Diamond Facial cost £125 for 60 minutes.
